Terms for handymen

FiksIT is an IT platform: we find clients and give you a service for handling jobs — a bot, a schedule, payment collection and receipts. You work as your own sole proprietor: FiksIT is your service, not your employer.

How we work together

The handyman provides the service to the client as a sole proprietor. The service contract is between the handyman and the client; FiksIT is not a party to it.
We sign a platform use agreement with the handyman's business, including an instruction for us to collect payments from clients on the handyman's behalf.
We don't work without a registered sole proprietorship. Working through someone else's business is agreed individually.
The platform fee is 20% of the job total.

Payments and receipts

Job prices are at the market average: the platform recommends them and the handyman agrees.
The client pays through the platform (by card and other methods) or in cash to the handyman.
We collect platform payments on the handyman's behalf and pay them out weekly, minus the platform fee. The fee for cash jobs is deducted from the same payout.
The client's fiscal receipt is issued by the handyman's business and generated automatically through the bot when the job is completed.
A diagnostic visit is paid if the handyman doesn't start the work during that visit. If the work starts right away, only the work is paid.
The platform fee can be reduced: for rework, client no-shows and the other cases below.

Risks — we take on a share

Scope: the terms cover only the services listed in the job. Extra work not listed in the job isn't covered — the client sees this notice in the job.
Defects: if an objective defect is found within 48 hours of handover (confirmed by the operator after consulting other handymen), the handyman fixes it at no extra charge. So the handyman doesn't end up out of pocket, FiksIT sells them materials at a discount and waives or reduces the platform fee for that job.
Damage to client property: FiksIT sends a quality specialist to assess the damage. How the damage is shared is decided based on the assessment.
Client no-show: if the client isn't at the address 30 minutes after the agreed time, the job is cancelled. The handyman gets 50% of the diagnostic visit price, or, if the client was to pay in cash, a lower platform fee on upcoming jobs.

Materials and tools

Missing a tool? Tell the operator at least 24 hours ahead and pick it up at the office.
Order materials through the operator or the bot at least 24 hours before the visit.
If materials are needed urgently, aren't in stock or can be bought nearby, we refund the receipt amount in full.

How the work goes

From sign-up to payout — in one bot

To join you need a registered sole proprietorship with a bank account and a fiscal cash register. We set up receipts through the bot when you join.
Sign up in the bot, fill in details about yourself and your business and get the agreement. Sign it and bring it to the office or send a scan.
In the bot, set your services, the area you live in and your working schedule.
On working days the bot reminds you an hour before you start and, if there are jobs that day, sends the day's plan.
The bot offers each new job to available handymen in turn: nearest to the address first, then by rating and reviews. If a handyman doesn't respond within 5 minutes, the job goes to the next one; handymen with the same rating get it at the same time.
If nobody responds within 10–15 minutes, the operator searches manually and calls handymen in the same order.
When you take a job, you and the client get the details. Your job list and the details of each job are in the bot menu.
On site, mark the start of work in the bot, and the finish when you're done. The client's receipt is generated automatically; for cash payments you collect the money.
